I know where it is on my Hemi (have not had to replace it yet, though). Not sure of where it is on a 4.7, the manual should show it, otherwise I know one of the 4.7 guys here will chime in....

I am having the same problem on my '04 4.7, 55k. I went to the Dealership yesterday and got new EGR for about 50$. However I cant find it back behind the intake. I mentioned reflashing the PCM to a service guy and got the.. "well I dont know about that but we will just have to look at it." I think I will try another dealership service dept if the EGR doesnt do the trick.

That's funny, that's what my Dodge service manager told me regarding re-flashing my PCM when I called this morning. I actually took my truck 3 months ago to diagnose the stalling problem and they said that they found nothing. Is re-flashing under warranty or will I get charged for the service.

I explained there had been a service bulletin for the '05 5.7's and all that but my impression was he wanted me to bring the truck in so he could charge me for "diagnosing." He acted like he had never heard of the stalling problem. When I went to the parts desk the clerk said they sure do sell alot of the EGRs for the 4.7 and 5.7. I would think the re-flashing would be cost free if it is due to a service buletin, but like I said the service buletin that I saw was for the 5.7. My mileage has droped from about 20mpg on the highway to 16 mpg. I bet the EGR valve is to blame for my stalling and fuel efficiency problems..... I just got to find it

The flashing of the PCM per the TSB is not free if your truck is not under warranty. I had 40k on my truck when I had it done and was charged $100 by the dealer.
It did not fix my stalling problem, but at least I eliminated it as the problem. It was the EGR on my truck that was the problem which was in front of the passenger side head (under the air intake tube).
