Default Engine stalling

I have a 2005 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 motor that just stalls or die for no apparent reason. Sometimes while stopped with my foot on the brakes, the car RPM will surge up and down. Check enigine light is NOT on. Not a lot fun when the engine dies while turning !!! Need some help.

Thanks!

Try cleaning your throttle body and tps sensor. It could also be your idle air control (IAC)motor going. My fix was when the dealer had to reflash my pcm with an updated one.

Do the following:
1) Have dealer re-flash PCM - it's a TSB so should be free.
if not fixed then...
2) Replace EGR (most often this is the fix)
then...
3) Clean Throttle Body.

in that order... 99.9% of the time, one of these will make the problem go bye-bye.

I had the same problem. My check engine light came on and off with the problem. The dealership replaced the EGR valve, and that solved the problem.

Thanks again for the help. Where exactly is the EGR valve located?
