Default 4 x 4 switch?

I am new to 4 x 4s. I was wondering... where is the transfer switch located to go from 2 wheels to 4 wheel power? Is there a shifter on the center hump to do this? Or is it near the radio using a ****?

if you have the "push button 4wd" its right to the left of your cubby hole, if you have a shifter it should be on the floor just to the left of where a stick shifter would be located...

Right here. You can see right behind the gear shifter circled in red the 4x4 ****.

So, it is only a ****. Is this design solid? Is it reliable? Does the button/electronics give out? Thanks for the replies so far!

The **** uses a servo to change the transfer case to wherever you have it set. I too prefer a stick as opposed to the ****. A stick allows you to know by feel whether you made it into the gear you chose or not. Plus the **** has an adjustable linkage and if that slips you will not get the gear you wanted, possibly no gear at all and need to either align it manually yourselfor take it to someone who knows.
