i agree, i have always used the sealant and never had a leak. on the other hand i know people who swear by the gasket .........

PS: i also find the sealant easier to clean off the housing during the next service.

 

I bought3 qt's ofRoyal Purple 75-140 with the modifier already added. Will it do the job?

 

I got one of these bad boys. Has a dipstick to check your fluid level and magnetic drain plug on the bottom for easy changes. Also comes with an o-ring alread applied.

 

Sup Hammer! Been workin my friggin *** off, dont have much spare time right now, putin in 80 hours a week or there about. Buiseness always picks up in the summer on the railroad, northern grain is already coming south for export, power plants are taking every train load of coal we can get them, the Mexicans are off loading 3 ships a week of steel, refinerys are producing double time to keep up with the summer rush on gasoilne and lay in reserves of heating oil so the yankees dont turn to pop cicles this January. WHEW, i am tired just thinking about it! We are getting some new engines in, pretty sweet eh?

I really like that Mag Hytec cover. I picked up one of these about a month ago. Sitting in the garage waiting for rear diff. fluid change time (about anther 3000 miles). I was thinking of going Mag Hytec but the pretty chrome got me. No drain plug, but for me, I think it's better not to have one. With aftermarket gears and LSD, I need to be forced to take the cover off and have a looksee every 15,000 miles. If I had the drain plug, I'd be lazy and use it, and never inspect what could be going on in there...

Nice cover! I always use a gasket with a light bead of rtv, never had to reseal one. Just a little extra insurance i guess!
