I was hit two weeks ago by a little GMC Sonoma (S-10). Let me tell ya, these rear bumpers are tough pieces. He was going about 20-25 mph looking the other way. Old guy never saw coming. Gave me a sore neck for a couple days but other than that, I'm fine. His truck sure wasn't though. Other than the radiator leaking everywhere, he couldn't even turn the wheels to move it. Totaled the front end! It looked like he ran into a brick wall. As for me, the bumper was pretty crushed in the center. But that's it. Tailgate: not a scratch. Bed box: untouched. Rear fenders: compelety fine. Hitch: solid. This impact was hard enough to knock the hat off the top of my head, but you couldn't tell looking at my truck. I'm sure it would of been a lot different if I hadn't had the hitch; so from me to you: Invest in a hitch. I bought the $100 Mopar piece that bolts right onto the tube frame under the bumper. It worked great in stopping this rear impact from damaging anything with paint on it. I get the truck back today.I know you're gonna want pics, but I put it in the shop before I thought about it.

Well it might look fine, but with an impact such as that you could have frame damage. Make sure they put your truck on a frame rack to ensure that the frame is in good shape, and that there is no damage.
