if you're getting 4x4...go w/ the '06, they went to coil over instead of torsion bar front end...plus you get the mds w/ the hemi

I have had my 03 for about 4 months now and absolutely love my truck. I have even persuaded my buddy to buy a dodge when he has always been a ford or chevy guy his whole life. If you ask me you won't be satisfied without the hemi.

i bought my 06 new , hemi rc sb 4x4 stock 355 gears which i think are a little lame, also i have 30something 000 miles on it now , and i have to replace windsheild seal (leaking) front bumper rust marks on the chrome that was in the first 5000 miles air bag sensor , rear u joint front brake pads , rear rotors are now shot , and my front coilovers and now also making noise. I can say I was a little disappointed with the hemi in my truck being a small truck I figured it would have went like stink but it barely spins the tires off the line doesnt seem to pull till about 3000 rpm , I couldnt imagine the smaller v8 in these trucks must be a dog.

If you have the means, purchase the HEMI. Ive had chevy's, ford's and a jeep and this is by far THE BEST truck I've ever owned.

Damn, you've had a few small issues, I've got a buddy with an'03 4.7, another with an '06 Hemi & my '04 QC Hemi 4x4, and NONE of us have had ANY issues at all. The only one that has even replaced front brake pads yet is the guy with the'03 and that was at 55,000 miles!
I have all the power I could ever want, and I'm HEAVY as hell, with 35" tires, lift kit, winch, tools, etc. Must be those 3.55 gears of yours (best mod to date for me are the 4.56's), but I agree, the Hemi loves to live in the higher RPM range, seems to become a new engine up around 2800RPM. Gonna doa KRC210 CAM after I put my headers on, 'sposed to be a low end torque monster, we'll see...

My mileage is what you'd expect from someone who drives consistently faster than the speed limit all the time. Based on the overhead console, I average 13.5-14 MPG and that is with driving the exact opposite of *****-footing. I do mostly stop and go in heavy traffic with about 10-15 miles round trip freeway on the weekends. I'm pleased with how my truck performs. Compared to an '02 Ford F-150 ex. cab with their 4.6L, it's no contest.

I'd have to say that ina RCSB the 4.7L does it's job and does it well. Great for light duty and just enough power to keep you satisfied. You start adding 2 more doors, an extra driveline, bigger tires, heavier wheels, a heavy trailer and you're going to need the HEMI for economy's sake.

I'd love to get 3.92 or even 4.10 gears for my truck but as of right now, they aren't needed.
