clay bar
I have used clay bars on my cars/trucks for a few years. usually, I clay them real well before I start layering the Zaino on them to get as close to a perfect finish as I can. Like the others said, make sure to keep it lubricated with slightly soapy water or the quick detailer spray that comes in the kits. Clay bars are not abrasive like wet sanding. You'd have to try to hurt the finish with a clay bar.
They are an easy way to remove any fine deposits or anything on the surface. They will not do anything for fading, scratches, etc. Only the bumps you fell on the paint when you rub your hand across it.

The cheapest place to find them, as most things; is on ebay. You can get 5 bars I think for about 35 bucks. Somebody mentioned using dish detergent as a quick detailer type lube. This will break down the clay and cause it to deteriorate quicker. Also, You shouldn't use the bar on sap, and tar. Any body solvent will be a much better way to deal with them.
