a few superchips questions
I was talking to a guy out work. He has a Ford truck and has an Edge programmer. He says it will tell him his 0-60,1/4 mile times, horsepower gains and etc. I guess like a g-tech pro.
Will a Superchips programmer do this?
Also have you guys had any problem with warranties by using one? He said all he has to do is flash it back to stock and they never know you did it. But I have also read that it will leave a foot print that they will see.

RE: a few superchips questions
No the SC programmer won't tell you any of your times and gains. As far as warranties, you won't have any problems as long as you flash it back to stock before taking it in. Yes, the programmer can see if there was any mods prior to service but he has to dig deep into the program and most mfg's will not waste the time and just either flash your computer or do the repair and be done with it. I ahve had my truck in 2 x's. Once putting it back to stock and once not. Had no problems.

Yeah it is idiot proof. Walk through instructions on the screen and be done with it. The only thing that possibly could go wrong is setting your shift points to high, racing the engine and going into the redline, then you know what happens then? Engine goes boom..... Other than that, it is real easy to do.

RE: a few superchips questions
The SuperChips programmer basically gives you the choice of 3 different programs: 87 octane, Towing, 91 Octane. Within those programs, it changes shift points and gives you different mapping for increased power/torque.
It also allows you to change tire size to recalibrate the speed sensor functions in the vehicle (or portion of the ECU) to correct your speedometer in the event of a tire size change.
You also can use the unit to read codes, and comes with a booklet to tell you what the codes are.(diagnostic tool)
What it WILL NOT do, is allow you to change shift points on your own, as the new shift points are pre-programmed into each separate program.
I'm talking about the programmer, not the FlashPak.......
