Default New to the forum!

Hello, my name is Jacob and i'm new to the forum. Since im a young'n and don't know the first thing about my truck, I figured here would be a good place to up my knowledge ( and get help if there's problems! ). I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Laramie 4X4 Quad Cab with the 5.7 Hemi. Having introduced myself, I already have a question. My engine light is on, and I dont know why. Some places said its electrical, so i dc'ed my battery and reconnected it, which did work, for a few days. But, it keeps coming back on. Think its serious?

welcome to the forum! Nice truck! As for your light, take it to autozone/advance auto parts they will hook up their code reader for free. Then tell us the code and we'll see if we can help you out with it.

Welcome, It depends on what code is present as to whether or not it is serious.

I'll toss the "O2 sensor" as my guess.

welcome to the forum man......yeah have the code read and then repost what the code is and go from there.....it might be serious and then again it might not....filled up with gas recently? if so tighten the gas cap like 4 or 5 clicks and the disconnect the battery see if that takes care of it lol.....or you could go with the "02 sensor" theory lol

Thanks guys, There's an Autozone like a mile down the road so I run it there. I always do about 5 clicks on my gas cap, and i have done the disconnect thing, so either there is actually a problem, or that light is really persistant, but it'll get checked. I'll post the code in a day or two.

Since we are throwing guesses up here, I will guess that cylinders 2,3,4, & 8 are misfiring!!
