Default Exhaust?

Right now I have flowmaster exhaust and it just doenst sound as well or as loud to me as I like it to be. If I wantd to dump how would I go about doing it and would it sound better and lounder. Also would it give it a little more hp. Other words I guess what I am trying to ask is would it be worth the time and effort to dump the exhaust. Thanks for any opinions.

IMO dumping the exhaust isn't the way to go, you get horrible drone and cab resonance which will end up driving you crazy after awhile trust me. Go with a good 2 chamber flowmaster and get rid of the resonators if you already havent, that should wake it up some.

time and effort to dump all you need to do is climb under cut the pipe thats what i did used my stock exhaust pipe to dump it just used the bend in the tail pipe and turned it as far as being loud its really loud in the cab but if you want it loud then its best way to go

hell yeah! dump it. I have an 05 ram with the 4.7L and i originally had flowmaster 40 series with pipes coming out the back. Then i wanted it louder so i dumped it. It sounds totally different with that big block muscle sound. I will never go back to pipes. I love it

You could always put in an electric cutout and leave the exhaust alone. This way when you are on long trip, the cut out stays closed and you have that rumble from the exhaust, but not overbearing to the point that it gives you a headache. If you want the loudness of the cut out, you flip a switch and presto, instant thunder. If you are not mechanically inclined, I would highly recommend that you get something like this done at a shop.
