buy new truck or keep one I have
This is just my opinion, but I NEEDED a vehicle real bad, wanted a Ram, but still had a hard time not waiting until the 2009 model release. I ended up buying a new '07 4.7L Ram 1500 4x4 QC, in Inferno Red, but with the major enhancements supposedly coming out soon, I really wanted to wait! Since I tend to keep a vehicle until it falls apart, I suspect I'll not be able to partake in the next "generation" of RAM's and possibly I'll get into the next generation. (Personally I want a full sized 4WD truck that will go 100 miles round trip without turning on the petrol)
Oh, and as for the $24000 used truck, depending on options that's possibly high. Consider that I just bought my brand new Ram 1500 4wd 4.7L SLT QC in Inferno Red for $21999. Since I was just in the market for a vehicle, I was looking at certified used vehicles.
For some real pricing, research Ram's on the Dodge certified pre-owned website, it's a very useful tool for researching used vehicles with lower miles and the warranty coverage is excellent for a used vehicle in my opinion. Also keep in mind any 5 star dealer can certify a used vehicle on their lot. Certification would likely get you new tires on a 40k mile vehicle. www.brandspankinused.com These prices are by no means the last word either.

I agree with waiting til the new models come out... then you wont have to kick yourself for buy the last year of this style when you end up liking the new style better...
Keep what you have for now. There is nothing like holding that title in your hand that says "She's all mine!", .........for a year, then it's back to making payments.
