hey guys...everytime i go over a bump of any size theres this weird sound/vibration from my front end...i took it to the deal and they said it was a loose tie rod end which they replaced...now it still does the exact same thing but only after driving a couple of miles...i've gone under there and tried to see if there was any play in nething down there and i couldn't find a damn thing...do u guys have any idea what it is?

 

weird sound doesnt sum up anything...what kind of a weird sound is it? a squeek, rattle...that sorta thing

 

go through and check all the bolts you can reach and make sure they are tight. i had a HORRIBLE squeek and the radiator cross member had two bolts on the bottom an 1/8th of a turn loose. i tore the whole front end apart thinking the noise was somewhere else. royal pain tracking down squeeks in the front end man! good luck!!

 

Try to spray some lube on you'r Anti sway bay rubber mounts to start.

What year is you truck dose it have a track bar it sound like it needs some lube some where it could be you A arms bushing give thoses a good spray and see if it go's away some thing is just dryed out.


My buddies 1997 Ford F-150 is bad at that then once agian he to lazy to get under the truck a spray it down.

 

the truck is an 06 1500 hemi with about 50 000 miles on it. i tried spraying some lube on the every bushing i could find that didn't help...its not a rattle its very hard to explain lol i figure it has something to do with the suspension because every time i go over a bump or something at any speed it sounds like something is moving up and down...kind similar to when ur kids jump on a mattress...not so much a springy sound sounds more like rubber or something very weird....i cant find a damn thing loose under there including any bolts and neither can my dealer but its really annoying me

 

Is you'r shocks worn out I getting ready to replace mine I just turning 24000 miles see if you have worn off paint on the body of the shock mabe they are rubbbing agains each other the outer body housing to the inner body of the shock wall.

 

thats what i was thinking but my shocks are painted red from the factory and theres no paint rubbing at all...could be the shocks though but u think the dealer would have told me that...its been in 3 times for the same problem

 

i think i have the same problem. It sort of sounds like a pop or somthing where some suspension or driveshaft components have a little play in them

 

yeah something like that but its not just a single noise its like as the suspension is going up and done the noise happens..normally i hear it twice over just one bump

 

mine is a 06 with same milage and my struts or shock whatever you want to call them are gone , kinda like a boong doong lol noises hard to explain on the web and can feel it in the floor is that what you hear and feel evrytime i go over a bump. look at the shock to see if it is leaking at all.
