Where's HankL's 2 page post on what it is and the physics on what it does?

 

pretty sure its an upper or lower ball joint.

 

ill probably put up another picture next week. Our teacher puts it at the front of the room but i usually sneak a picture or two

 

yeah i'm thinkin you'd be pretty safe with saying it's a ball joint....however, i still like my flux capacitor theory better lol

 

You guys are allF^*&in nuts. Thats obviously a 3 3/4" pinckney flange!!!! LOL. We must all think alike cause my first thought before scrolling down was to call it a Flux Capacitor then I saw Hemiyellow's post so I thought HA i'll get 'em and say a Canooter valve. No luck. Just kiddin man. I agree. Looks like a greasable press in type ball joint to me.

 

my first guess was that it is the left-side linkage for the bumper fluid reservoir, LOL

What is this part? It has to do with the rear end.

kinda looks like a hub for a rear wheel drive car (like a 300, magnum and that sorta thing)...if i counted right it's a 31 spline....i'd say it's a hub

 

thats sort of what i was thinking. Any one else?
