Default Rancho Leveling Kit

I have 2007 2500 CTD 4X4 that I have a Rancho leveling kit with 33" tires installed on it. I've had it on for about a month and ever since I had it installed there has been a popping sound when you turn the steering wheel to turn a corner or a sharp curve. Have any of you guys had this experience with other leveling kits the guy at the 4X4 shop is going to take it back down and look at it but he said this is a normal noise you hear on a lifted truck for the springs but it's hard for me to believe that with all the lifted 4X4 I see that they all sound like mine. So if any of you have any suggestions on what or where this noise is coming from and if it can be corrected I would appreciate the info.

I have a Rancho kit as well, no problems at all.

It is possible that you are hearing your tires hitting yourwheel wellswhen you turn the wheels?

No it's not the tires I had them on before the leveling kit and I still have plenty of room. It's just been since I had the kit installed that I hear this sound like the spring popping or two pieces of metal bound up then releasing making a pop or thud sound. Guess I'll call Rancho tomorrow and see what my options are since I'm not leaving $300 in parts on my $35000 truck that makes it sound like a wagon going down the road.

Never ever heard of that noise with a leveling kit before. What your describing actually sounds like a ball joint going out

Man ball joint at 2800 miles that's not good. I just hope between Rancho and the shop that installed it they can find out what it is.

Dunno, I know I've read a lot of posts and at least 3 magazine articles on the Rancho Quik Lift and yours is the first negative I've seen. As I have an '04 with T-Bars, I have no direct experience with this unit. It looks like a real simple install, so I don't think your service man could have screwed it up. Maybe one of your two lifts is just bad.
Hope you get it resolved soon, and keep us posted...

It's not the Quick Lift it's the RS6576 Leveling kit that comes with the block for the top of the springs, lower link arms and new bump stops.

If thats the case you will need to have your struts replaced. They are over taxed and will need to be replaced to a stronger strut to fix the issue. The quick lift would have been a much better option for you because its a taller strut and it also takes care of the strut clicking like it is.

Well, I don't know how fast you have to go to get the noise, but maybe you can just drive slowly in a big circle in a parking lot, and have someone walking along side and see if they can narrow down the location of the sound. There are onlya handful of bolts that come off to put the kit on, hopefully something is just loose.
