Hi, my truck set up right now is muffler replaced by a 3 in straight pipe with resonator still in place. Its does sound very good and loud ! a little bit like a 70 challenger.But instead of that custom set up, i am looking into a dual exhaust ! (looking to get some performance too) I want to make sure that my truck sounds as loud once i put the dual on. So with which exhaust system should i go ? i am looking into a cat back, dual pipe !

 

get a cam if your going for that 70s challenger sound

 

yea it takes a lot more than cat back for that kinda sound but my opinion is still magnaflow!! or check out lmctruck.com i think they have a dual pipe no muffler cat back....

 

yeah i think the only way your going to accomlish that is just putting in a y pipe and splitting them with no muffler still..... Usually your not going to find a muffler that gets that loud due to noise restrictions....

 

Then ad a cutout or two depending on your setup. Your truck will be real loud and shake alot, ha ha.

 

thanx for you advices guys. also, i have notice that my truck is idling at 550-600 rpm, is it normal. It make it very quiet at idle, even with my current setting. Is there any system that is dual from the header to the exhaust tip, or it only custom make ?

 

I believe thats only custom done due to everything that would be in the way on the drivers side....

Mine with Flowmaster Super 40s

 

first off get rid of the resonator. my 05 dak with the 4.7 has a single 3 inch catback with no res. most people ask me were i got my duals done and kinda smile when they look and it is only one large pipe. if you want a nice system get a set of mufflers and go to your local exhaust shop and have then fab up and hang the system. it is alot cheaper and most places if you pay in cash wont charge sales tax.
