Ok been awhile since i posted on here..... I have an 05 dodge ram scsb 4.7l 36000miles and it kills every once in a while and every time i take it to the stealership they say nothing is wrong but they said if it goes out of warranty and it still does it they will fix it.... anyone had the same problem if you bump the throttle the RPM will drop also... everytime they say we have to relearn the computer which i think is bs but i am tired of the problems with it

 

This is actually a pretty popular question on here. At the top of the page theres a tab titled "dodge recalls and tsb's" up there there is a tsb for this problem. Find it in the list, print it out and take it to the dealer and don't leave til they re-flash it. Sometimes thats the fix sometimes the guys have to replace the EGR valve, but one of them gets it about 99% of the time...

drop this ? in the gen 3 dakota section. there have been problems with the 05 4.7 in the dak also. it turns out that the egr valve is shot and they just replace it. also the 05 has the 7/70000 mile. so you are still good for a few many more miles

 

you sure abou tthe '05's having the 7/70k. I got my '05 1500 back in november aqnd the dealer told me he thought it did, but after looking it up they said that it didn't have this warranty?

 

before we bought our '06 commander (3/36) we looked at an '05 pacifica that had the 7/70.

 

7/70 is right. also if you are the original owner the stealership should be able to talk to the factory and get it covered on a last chance if you will. Ford did this with my old 2000 mustang. Youu will have to fight a little bit for this but keep this in mind for future reference as well. A good service manager will help you with that.
