Nothing but amsoil runs through my motor. Wix filter as well. The motor feels so much stronger with this combination.

Hey guys... what weight do you guys recommend with syn oil, i have an 02 4.7, I run 5w30 but with the oil being a lil thinner should i go heavier weight?? I live in canada to so i was thinking something heavier in the summer and something lighter in the winter.

I went Amsoil with their bypass kit....change oil at 25k

Amsoil is a MLM system, much like Avon and other get rich quick systems. The oil is OK, although it tends to thicken over time. Mobil-1 is a better choice, long term independent tests confirm it.

whoa with that "thick over time"..thats what happens with th other oils..thicken and sludge..Amsoil doesn't...

Unless your truck is a oli burner, lighter oil is better, summer and winter, the days of 10/30 20/50 oil are over, unless your still driving a older car built up to the late 80's. Heaver oil takes longer to burn if you have a oil burner with poor rings or valve seals.
5/20 is best, all year....

Concur with that. 5W30 is all you need and if my eyes didnt deceive me, I think I saw 5W20 on the dipstick of my GF's newly bought '05 Ram 1500 and if thats true for you then you're still ahead if you go 5W30.

Mobil 1 (Official oil of NASCAR)and Wix (Official filter of NASCAR)for my vehicles. Inventors of synthetic oil and the spin-on oil filter.
