Default 04' 3.7l rg cab sht bed

To start out i wanted to say awesome forum with lots of info!!
Heres my dilemma, i hate a stock vehicle i always have to modify!
Now i have looked and only come up with a Intake upgrade for my 3.7l
i was wondering what else is out there for my truck!
Also it has 2 3/4" custom dual exhaust profiled and built by Magnaflow (they used this truck as a template for their mass producing exhaust)
Im thinking of regearing it due to the fact it has 3.23 gears, and it cant get out of its own way!
Granted this lil v6 is pretty powerful, it needs more power!
any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Might want to hook up with some of the Jeep guys on this one. The new gearing will most definitely make a difference though.

I too got the 4.7L (didn't want to spend the extra cost/gas on the HEMI at the moment) and I'd be interested in some exhaust most of all. You have any info on it? It sounds pretty good, just too low. My friend has Flowmasters on his 3.8L Supercoupe and it sounds pretty decent.

if your wanting to go that route of regearing the diff. . .a 3.73 would do the job. a 4.10 might be a bit tall and cause you to murder your fuel mileage. but if your looking to smoke the tires a 4.10 would do that well with that v6. however, a 3.73 would also do it (maybe not as well) while retaining some of your fuel mileage since your having to turn more RPM's to go the same distance.

Ive got a 4.10 in my truck, and you can feel a bit more power to the rear wheels over a 3.73 since it gives the engine a bit more mechanical advantage. but the real savings if I had a 3.73 would be fuel. where as if I was on the trail, the 4.10 would be better. one of these days I'm gunna get a 25% overdrive gearset put on my truck and give myself a 12 speed

i have the 3.7 not 4.7! but im still extremely amazed the power this lil v6 has!
Doesnt Chrysler offer a 3.92 gear ratio???
my problem wasnt fuel mileage or price, it was nobody had the truck i wanted, so i figured to go with gas mileage instead of Hp! Problem is i want HP now!!
Hey does anybody know if the offer tranny shift kits for the V6?? i hate the way my truck shifts.

Does extra HP give you extra towing capacity? My '04 3.7L regular cab SWB w/the 5 speed manual is rated at 3000lbs, while the 4 speed auto is rated at like 3400. If I put exhaust and say a new throttle body/intake on, will it tow that much more?

More TORQUE gives you more towing capacity. More GEARS (4.10 or 4.56) gives you more towing capacity. It really depends on the diameter (height) of your tires. Mine are 33 inches so the 4.56s that I have on order will give me the Torque that I want much quicker. Change your exhaust - you probably want to keep it single in/single out (dual out on your engine will probably give you torque loss), CAI, more the temperature sensor and new cams (I think www.krcperformance.com makes some for your 3.7L)
