Nah. I'm using metal pipe and wraping it in duct wrap insulation. PVC isn't really heat rated for underhood stuff, I personally think there's too much plasic to begin with.

Hey spud,
it is called a CAI because it will let more air in, unrestricted, and faster thus keeping the air cooler than stock. Think of a fan. The smaller the fan, the less air that is pushed, thus by the time the air gets to where it needs it is warmer than when left the fan. Now take a larger fan, the air will be cooler when it reaches the same point in distance. A CAI does the same thing. The setup will allow more air in, the smoth tube will be less restrictive, sooooooo the air will be a little cooler than leaving the stock setup in. We are not talking about air conditioning for the engine but a CAI helps alittle. You want really cold air for your engine, you will need a turbo.

Thats a better explaintion than we've gotten for the argument against it being cold air, so I make a motion to call it a cold air intake. Anyone out there care to second that?

Speaking of turbos, its coming up on a week and I still haven't gotten a call from STS about a 4.7 turbo package.
