cranked the torsion bars
I just got done cranking the torsion bars and wow. The stance looks way better. It a 4x4 and it looks a lil pre runner now. I think i got 4-5 inches just by tightening them up. I hear all this stuff about stuff wearing out early but I looked at everything and their are no linkages at extreme angles. That is a good upgrade without spending one bit of cash.

Just make sure those angles on the front CV driveshafts boots, isn't so acute that rubbing causes them to wear out/split.
It has been done.
Not only that, but if the angles on the shafts are that extreme to cause the boot to rub and split as it turns, think what it's doing to the CV joints?
Just a caution my friend.

If it's as simple as cranking the torsion bars up, wouldn't everyone go that route and save the $250-300.....?

RE: cranked the torsion bars
well those do the same thing. they crank the torsion bars tighter. So pretty much those are a waste of money. If some one can explain to me how those will stop all the alignment probablems then I might buy them. All those do is start with the torsion bars cranked more than stock. If you know what I mean becuase its hard to explain. But Ill post pics soon. Oh and it sits level, I was just an idiot lookin at it when it was in half garage and half driveway.

My whole problem is that torsion bars are steel bars designed to work with a specific "twist" (tension) rate, and by cranking them up, my concern is that on a frontal compression, (Torsion bars control downward forces on a vehicle) they could be overloaded and break, or prematurely weaken.
Since torsion bars are a "Progressive" spring rate, I'd imagine that cranking them to a certain point would make the ride of the front of the truck harsh.
Not saying this is factually going to happen, ratherquestioning the act of "torquing them up" and if there's anyone with experience, or first hand knowlege if it could end up harming anything or not.
I've seen aftermarket torsion bars, and wonder if they're any different then stock, other then a pretty red coat of paint.....
I think the front of my Ram sits too low, and was looking at raising it myself, but hesitate until I know for sure.
Pics would be nice.
