The number that determines "height" in a tire is the middle number. That's your Sidewall Aspect.
If your tire size is 270-60r x 20, that means the sidewall aspect is 60% of 270, or 270 mm in tire width.
Simply: The height of the tire is 60% of it's width.
Using a tire that's a 270-70r x 20, would be slightly taller, but require recalibration of your speedometer with a programmer.
The math looks like this:
270 x 60% = 162mm from ground to rim's edge.
270 x 70% = 189mm from ground to rim's edge.
By changing your tire size by 10% of the aspect, you increase your vehicle height by 27mm (25mm is one inch).
Overall tire height by 54mm (side wall increases top and botton, so it's x2) 54mm, slightly more the 2 inches.

Oh......keep in mind: A tire's actual size, when compared to the same size tire of another brand, can vary. Tire MFGers must have their tires within spec of actual size, by 7% of actual printed size.
So, theoretically, a tire can vary up to 14% from another brand tire of the same size, as that's 7% plus or minus. (One brand 7% plus, compared to another tire 7% minus, equals 14%)[:@]

If I recall305 are 32.1 inch tires, stock tires are like32.99 tall. I seen 305 on a stock truck at a dealership before.
The tire you want go to are wider.

This is what I use to keep my mind away from metric computations. Take the tire size, subtract the wheel size and divide by 2 to get the sidewall size, in inches.
