HAS ANYONE SEEN THESE EXHAUST TIPS ON A DODGE???
Hey guys, I am thinking about getting these (or something similiar) exhaust tips mounted on my MegaCab. I would like a set mounted on each side of the truck, either in front of the rear wheel or behind, cut out in the fenders.
My questions are, has anyone done this type of set up on their Dodge truck? If so, please post pics and details!
Does anyone see problems doing this set up? It looks like the pipes will have to run down the passenger side (along side the frame) then one pipe will have to cross over to the drivers side rear fender.....my question is, I have a 5.5" lift, will I be able to see that pipe crossing over to the drivers side because it will have to be ran below the frame (because the gas tank is in the way)??.
Finally, the only place I have been able to find these tips at is stylintrucks.com (see link)....does anyone know where else you might be able to find them......CHEAPER!??? I think I could find a fabricator to do them for way less.....

I saw a set on a silver QC. They dumped out on both sides in front of the rear tires. Looked pretty good but the exhaust soot looked bad. My 04 is patriot blue on top and silver on the bottom, so there's no wayI would put them on my truck because of the soot problem. Hope this helps. Later

The tips look cool, the exhaust soot they blow all over your paint is not.
Friend bought a bow tie with those already on it. after about a year the paint was pretty much shot, and that was with pretty god care. just stained the clear coat. imo not worth it.
but to answer your question, yes i have seen them, yes they look cool

i've seen them on a lot of minitrucks.. not on a ram... it looks pretty kool i guess.... its hard to tell without seeing it.. hmm. prolly y ur askin lol
well I guess soot would be one of the problems, but, I dont have a diesel, so not much soot going on, my truck is black and I wash it about every week........so if that is the only problem forseen, I think I could handle it. My biggest concern it routing the pipes without seeing them hanging down and trying to find these tips for less $$$$
Take your finger and run it on the inside of your exhaust pipe. Black fingers? Thats what will build up on your clear coat. That is normal carbon build-up.

They look cool to be sure, or at least I imagine they would (never seen 'em on a Dodge truck). I'm guessing the soot problem would suck...wonder if you Line-X'ed your rockers how that material would hold up ?
Another possible problem is the truck vibrating from the exhaust being mounted directly to the body. Unless there is a damper built into the tips the body will vibrate quite a bit.
