Groaning from rear

RE: Groaning from rear
Gears should not make any kind of noise if they are replaced BUT higher the gear ratio more likey they will make some kind of nose do to the higher picth teeth on the gear set.
I was told Richman uses a harder metal compound so they are know to make a little noise.
I had a set in my 1981 power wagon they did not make any noise.

OMM,
Thanks. I don't know if it's got a LSD although I doubt it does because I'm always spinning the inside tire when accelerating around a turn. Is there anywhere besides the glovebox where I could find RPO codes? I looked in the glovebox and under the hood and can't find a sticker with codes.
I'll stick a finger in her rear tomorrow and see what comes out... :-)

Not sure about the RPO codes anywhere alse. I have build specs on a sticker in my glovebox. Your's will be the same, accept no "Anti-Spin Differe" line, but your gear ratio above it.

You got enough guesses on the first noise, so I'm gonna take a stab on the second one, the something loose going over bumps. Check your spare tire holder under the bed.

There's a metal tag, but I believe that refers to ratio, not LSD or not. How'd that finger-stick-in-your-rear thing work out?
The other thing you can do, is send a request to these people, and they'll send you an entire build sheet on your vehicle.

Lastly, take your VIN to your local dealer and ask them. They can print a build spec sheet off for you while you wait.......

Not sure about others here, but I can't spin a single tire to save my life, with LSD. Even on the dry street...
