wheel swap??
does anyone know someone in the gainesville, fl area that would be interested in swapping 03-05 1500 chrome 20's for chrome 17's, of course i have the 20's i am looking to get a more aggressove tire for a little cheaper, more sidewall too. let me know and we might set something up.
It amazes me how many 4x4's are on the lot with 20" rims. I asked sales mgr. of my local dealer (he plays the golf course where I'm the asst. pro) about it one day. He said if he ordered one with 17's it would sit on the lot till Doomsday!!!
Doesn't anybody buy a 4x4 to take it off road? Has a 4x4 become just some kinda lame status symbol?
A tire on a 20" rim has basically no flex or floatation and as such, is basically useless off road. Unless of course those 20" wheels are sporting at least 38" tires, then I guess it'd be OK.

I use my 4wd (with 20" wheels) when I go offroading. Of course, I'm towing my Jeep (on 35x12.50x15 MTRs) to the park to play but the staging area is up a hill so the 4wd helps get the trailer up there. I wouldn't wheel with anything larger than a 15" wheel unless the brakes were too big to fit. 35" tires on 15" wheels flex really well at 12-15psi even on something as light as the Jeep.
