performance and mpg gains
ORIGINAL: Great White Wing
If I am doing my math correctly (maybe?) it would take 12.4k miles to pay for a tuner? A 3 mpg gain with gas at $2.75 would be $.0346/mile and a tuner at $430 would be 12.4k miles!
Am I missing something?

I'd say a tuner will make the biggest difference, i gained about 3 mpg after adding mine. After that a good free flowing exhuast and a CAI You can do a search and find a ton of information on this.

Your math is correct which means in one year the tuner has paid for itself (since most of us average 12k/year) and every year after that you have saved $430 in gas.
The synthetic oil that shouldn't be used for wet clutches or limited slips is the one that says energy conserving on the back label. It has more antifriction modifiers in it, which will make a wet clutch slip.
