Default performance and mpg gains

What brands of mods are going to give me the best performance and mpg gains? Will removing the rear resonator produce any gains?
What I was hoping for here is the brands that give the best results in mpg gains and power or are they all so close that it is a personal preferance.Does removing the resonators do anything other than make more noise?

Simple items, the boaring stuff, like tire pressure, clean air filters, Clean engine oil, use mid grade flue, drive no faster than 60 mph, aviod quick accleration, the baoring stuff is going to give you the best performance for the least amount of money spent.

You can buy a lot of gas for the cost of CAI, chips and tuners and EX systems.

But, I swapped out the stock ex sytem on my 2500 hemi for duals, and it was worth it, performane and mileage are improved, I might install a CAI but I can;t justify the expenase right now..

I'd say a tuner will make the biggest difference, i gained about 3 mpg after adding mine. After that a good free flowing exhuast and a CAI You can do a search and find a ton of information on this.

i did an intake and exhaust mainly for the performance... im sure there is slight changes in mileage but when i tune it and it all comes together thats when i expect a gain...

Tunner will give the most bang for your buck. And adding a CAI and exhaust will help if you dont accelerate hard which is very hard if your like most people who like to hear their truck rumble down the road. Shop around and pick something you like that is within your price range and something that you think is worth the money.

As said above, the basics is where you start. A good maintenance schedule and a change to synthetic lubes will give you a good start, especially on the fuel economy end. Then you work on the breathing, free flowing exhaust & CAI. Then a tuner. I think my LT headers made the biggest single difference, but I also reset my PCM at that time, as I was advised by local performance shop that it would help the PCM "learn" or adjust to the change faster. So I don't know which accounted more for the 2 mpg gain I'm seeing.
My truck is heavy as hell, lift kit w/subframe, 35's, grille & brush guards w/winch, etc. and I'm currently seeing about upper 13's to around 14 around town (combination) driving and close to 17 interstate. That's not too shabby since that's what it's rated for stock without all that weight.

went in wednesday for my 3000 mile service and got a brochure on the scheduled maintenance costs. i asked about using synthetics when they change it next time and they told me to stay away from them. they said chrysler doesn't recommend them[&:]. has anyone had any warranty issues from using synthetics (chrysler refusing to repair)?
where all do you use synthetics? engine, diffs, transfer case, how about the trans?

I can't imagine why a dealer would tell you not to run synthetic oil in your engine. Many new cars already come with it.

as said by cyclone simple stuff. Also get a regular maintenence interval for other things not listed. plugs, etc.
