Yes I understand thank you, Mark. I just see that extra hp/tq, with the extra 2 gear... That thing has got to be bad.

I have been looking at used trucks and it looks like I could easly have one around January, maybe Xmas. I know my parents aren't gunna help any though and I won't ask. Thats why I have to save up for everything. I am lucky they are paying for college! haha.

Well if its worth waiting for, do you think by 09 Dodge will have that 6.7L on lock? From test driving that thing, it is definatly extremly nice! I do like it better and knowing me, I would probably take the risk and get one.

The HEMI will save you money in the long run, and with lifetime powertrain warranty will not cost you any out of pocket if there is a breakdown.

My 07 Hemi with MDS (4x2) will get 22-23mpg on flat highway if I keep it under 60mph. If I am averaging 70mph, it drops to 19mpg. With mixed highway/some local, im getting over 400miles from a 22gal fillup.

The point is that the hemi costs much less, the 1500 is probably a better cruising truck than the diesel (and with mds gets good milage if you know how to drive it), and may be quicker stock. If you are only towing 5-6000 lbs once a week, why get the diesel?

Now factoring in the lift and the 37's There goes gas mileage considerably and unless regaer-ed there goes power. if 4x4 how long will ifs last with that tire size? Not ******* 1/2 tons, I had one and it was great. I just think in this case. the diesel is the only way to go.

Well CMA, towing even 7000# with a 8in lift and 37s will strain it some.

I just talked to my dad also. He said if I got the diesel he would have me towing more bricks, cement in the bed, and tractors and such. Meaning it would be more around 12000pounds! (sorry guys, out of the HEMIs limit) I don't want to be the guy on the highway maxing he engine out doing 40mph. I would rather be the guy smoking ricers, while towing weight!

It is definatly the CTD for me!!!

But which engine to go with??? the 5.9 or the new 6.7??

Doesnt the 2500 CTD cost about twice as much as a half ton? You can get a hemi QC for low 20s. I seem to remember that the CTD costs high 30s.

Yes the diesel costs a lot more. About $8000 more. Diesels run harder, and they last a lot longer. When it comes to resell value, you can bet that a deisel with 200,000 miles, and a gas engine with 100,000 miles, the diesel will sell for more.

I was megaly impressed with the duramax 2500 ext cab long box I test drove a week ago, It was quick and realy quiet and rode just fine, I prfer the looks of the GMC over CHEVY and I will never like the white instermintation in the Dodge Ram.

I'm driving my 2500 Ram until it drops dead, or the payments are finished.
