who still has that black plsatic under bumber
Just as it says who still has that black platic pice under front bumber I just lost mine 07 with 800 miles in it what is the perpous of it do you need it ? i just got the truck 1 month ago frist time off roading with this one the ranger i had befour sucked thanks
I believe it's for air flow under the truck. I have a friend who took it off his '04 4.7 4x4 about a year and a half ago so his truck had a "taller" look and he said his gas mileage suffered a noticeable amount. But I guess not too severe, because the last time I was up to the Georgia farm (hunting/fishing/4 wheelin' property I co-own) in March, it was still off.
have to look in my gallery i might have one in there without never had it when i got the truck so can't say if it makes any difference or not if there isn't one i'll get on in there tomorrow
it makes the bumper level with the rest of the truck. of and i doubt that little piece is goin to make a huge difference in gas milage...just look how big the truck is. I might do this tomaro.

I've posted it before and was ignored but I'll do it again anyway...
That plastic piece is there to increase airflow through the radiator. Without it, the path of least resistance means more air goes around the radiator instead of through it. In many cases it may not matter but if and when you do find out about it, it'll be at a very inopportune time to fix it. Remove that piece on an 80s Firebird/Camaro and you'll be overheating in any kind of normal driving.
It's a simple case of "what does everybody else have." If the trucks came without that, people would be scrambling to add it. Since it comes with one, people are itching to remove it.
