Default DId they change their muffler?

So, buddy of mine and I were looking under his 07 Big Horn and I noticed that he has the long round muffler. I remember my 99 had the same thing but my 06 had the resonator and two muffler setup (which I cut out). Just wondering why Dodge went back to the long tank type muffler?

My 06 had two resonators and the one BIG muffler.
The resonators are the size of an aftermarket muffler tho hehe.

I just ordered this Borla Kit for my 06 ....I hope is sounds good.

The previous owner of my truck removed one resonator and the muffler and installed a Flow Master, just dumping under the truck, with no tailpipe.
The sound of the MDS and the drone was really getting on my nerves, but I just couldn't bring myself to install the stock exhaust that the guy took off. The stock muffler weighs a ton.

I hope this sounds as good as the Borla exhaust on the Daytona Rams, but I know the exhaust is different on the 06 and 07 Rams because of the MDS.

borla isnt known for being the loudest, its for that special, distinct tone, which im sure your familiar with. its not too loud at idle, sounds great at spped, and mean as hell when i open it up. also, after you get it put on and your driving down the road, go from a 30 mph roll and stomp on it up to about 80-85. listen between shifts. in the split second in which it is shifting, there is a mean as hell note thrown from the exhaust. i love it, it is my favorite part. listen for it, you will not be disappointed...

also, jw, did you go with borla tips and if so, what configuration? i decided to go with corsa tips, out the stock location. if i had a ram, i would have went duels out the back though

I have an 06 Night Runner Ram, and installed the running boards and ground effects package on it. I have an opening for a single tip on the right side. That is why I am going with the Borla single tip. If it sounds anything like the Daytona exhaust, it is gonna be sweet.

I have actally talked to people that removed the Borla on their Daytonas to install a Flow Master....I just don't unstand it.

Hey Kooda, was that flat chin spoiler part of the running board/ground effect package? I have the Night Runner and don't have that.

Chin spoiler was a seperate piece. The kit is made up of 3 different orders, the Running Boards, the front Spoiler, and the bed accent kit. All the parts are Maopr Parts, and they all came painted Brilliant Black. All I had to do was put them on.
