Something isamiss, the guru at KRC Performance was just telling me that he can take a stock 360 and make 402 RWHP for about $2500. So, if by your estimation, it costs $6500 to get to 425 HP then I could live with the twenty some less HP for $4000 less.
That guy is way way wrong, a 408 stroker barely makes 375 hp.

iv been fooling arround on bionic dodge and delphi (dakota forum) a lot recently, and the krc guys are on there pritty heavy. As far as iv gathered its much much more expensive than 2500. Maybe for their personal truck they could, but for the rest of us schmucks that have to get most of the work outsourced(I do all of my work, the only things Id need outsourced would be machine work, but I cant speek for everyone), and have to pay msrp (or above msrp) for parts, its gonna be more than 2500. I spent 1500 already and i have what...like not even 230 rwhp. Show me 172 rwhp for 1k, and ill jump on it in a second.

This is a cut & paste from Marty from KRC Performance posted on Bionic Dodge on 10/25:

"Well, finally, got some nice weather and fidgited with the SCT tune on the Ram hot with 20" street tires.

402.8hp and 411 ft/lbs

If I haven't said it already, the SCT is incredible in it's ability to write to our ECU's. I have some new beehive springs going in soon, and I do have a ported 4bbl M-1 we may try over the Edelbrock dual Plane."

But I'm sure that's true, I'm sure that's talking about doing all the work yourself....

theres no doubt that the sct tuner is revolutionizing the way we tune our trucks, but what else did he have in the truck at the time. I think I remember the thread and his motor was a mild 360. (parts alone for that are over 2500). Not to mention kevin is up north, krc is down in flordia, so hed have to travle to florida to make good use of their tuning skills, as they are about the ONLY tuners for magnum trucks in the nation with the sct tuner and any experience with it. Granted there are plenty of experienced dyno tuners out there, that may or may not have the unlimited program from sct for the ram, but i guarentee you they do not have any experience actually doing it to the rams. Without taking it to KRC or having the knowledge how to do it yourself 100%, you would not be able to get the full effect of the tuners potential.

if you could, shoot me the link to that thread please.

I though of it but then changed my mind , N/A power is reliable power.

i was thinking of that myself, and pricing it out came to about 2k for everything done and done, but then I had to worry about reliability of the bottom end, and then when talking about forged replacements it started to skyrocket the price, because if im going to replace it id go 408. As far as a DAILY DRIVEN vehicle IMO the 5.7/6.1 swap is best bang for the buck. (granted I havent done one, but iv read up enough on it that Id atleast like to consider my self somewhat knowledgable on the subject)

Until you guys work with a 360 I don't think their is room to talk, there is barely any aftermarket support compaired to the hemi engine, the hemi makes more efficient power, and its plug and play as far as my research tells me.
No aftermarket support for the 360?? Dude that engine has been around since 1972! The 340 it was spawned from goes back to '68 (which is where I would start for a stroker since the 340 has 4.04" bores to begin with over the 360's 4" stock bore).

and once again.... LA motors vs Magnum motors. Its like compairing the LT1 to gen1 350, or a 5.0 pushrod, to a 5.0 modular. (though not quite as drasticly) or compairing LA motors to Magnum motors.... heads...nope, intake...nope...ignition system...nope. I dont recall if the block is even quite the same with respect to port openings for the water pump or bolt points. (im pritty sure the timing chain cover doesnt even swap over). There are magnum heads that can be drilled to accept LA style blocks but then your running diffrent intakes, which arent fuel injected, and the whole point of the build up is to have the efficiancy of fuel injection, as well as the accuracy and tunability and longevity. To get back to my original point, magnum 360s were only in RAMS. (maybe also one big boat of a car too which i forget its name)

don't get me wrong fellas... if you honestly think you could do the swap by all means do it.... i think it would be original and completely sick!! I am more than willing to help in anyway i can.... just saying its not gonna be as easy as one might think.... and there are easier alternitives
