STUPID FUSE!!!
My best guess is that it's a pinched wire and that it took this long to become an issue. It finally wore through the shielding and now the wires are exposed. Seeing as the cab lights would follow a similar path to the fuse box as the interior lights, I think it's time to start pulling panels and visually inspect the wires.
its an old british humor story about how aircraft electronics fail to work when smoke appears. One british mechanic put one and one together and determined that it was the "magical" smoke that made components work and not the electrical current. Since then any time a business jet was down with electrical problems it was due to letting out too much magical smoke.
On a serious side, I hate electrical problems. They are the most difficult to troubleshoot and resolve esp when you have an intermittent shorting. Mechanical and on board computers..... no problem but I hated to get an aircraft in with electrical problems.

If you have a multi meter, with it on the continuity setting go from the load side of the fuse to ground, you should have continuity here or very low resistance, if and when you get that just start pulling parts (bulbs, switches) that are on that circuit, when you no longer have continuity you found your trouble spot... Hope this helps
take the A pillar off on the drivers side and see if you havea pinched wire there. the overhead lights alsoare powered thru the instrument cluster. You could check the C1 gray connector on the intrument cluster for shorts to ground. Also there is a TSB for water leaks thru the clearance lights on top of the truck. If they have got wet there may be a short or corrosion there.
there are no leaks on the cab lights and they are a seperate fuse anyway... plus they go down the passenger side pillar... i'll check the driver side tomora....
