It will only look cheesey if you rivet or bolt them on. use black double sided tape to make them adhere to the hood.

 

Mine already had the stick on scoops when I bought it. I do like how it makes the hood looks and I've gotten a few compliments on it. I don't really care whether it's functional or not. I'll leave them on for a while and maybe go with a real hood later but for now it suits me just fine.

 

i think it's good if thats what you want...like greg said, i'm savin up my money and goin for the real deal...but hey, if thats what you like then I say go for it and show it off proudly

 

like td said, it all maters what you think, not anyone else. It will give you that individual look instead of the look alikes you sometimes see, go for it m8, will look good.

Really I think it will look great. Sure, it would be nice to have a "real" one, but I sure don't have that much right now.

Lama, it's your truck and your taste that counts. It's not cheesy. There's lots of cheesier things I've seen done to a truck. I know $$$ is ALWAYS a factor. Functional hoods are best, but if you're strapped for cash, that's a good way to go. If it's done right, you're the only one that's gonna know anyway.

 

Over the weekendI just happened to see a red SRT 10 parked at a used carDealer so I turned around to take a close look at it. To my surprise when we opened the hood the hood scoop wasn't connected to anything. It just had a standard air intake running into a sealed air filter box. I never would have expected that!

 

This is a RamAir intake.It is pulling air from the underside surface of the hood through the induction. Besides no restriction to the throttle body, I don't know how much more functional it is in comparison to other intakes. Question of water is one of my concernstoo. Aside from that. Do what YOU like!Maybe savemore money and get a hood for a few hundred more..

I added a factory color matched fake scoop on mine just for looks and had some 4.7 magnum decals made for the sides of the scoop and I like it and so soes everyone that I have talked to about it, it makes my standard cab short bed look like a mean bulldog with the extra girth on the hood, now I have to save up for my wheels and 33's.

 

Man!! I think it will good! If that is what you want, then go ***** deep in it!
