Is this too cheesy?
I ordered a pre-paintednon functional hood scoop. http://www.atlantaauto.com/dodge/ram...3d691321p.html
I also ordered these chrome "Hemi"emblems for each side of the scoop. http://www.autotrucktoys.com/ram/Mop...5085C5584.aspx
I figured why not, most of the hood scoops these days are just for looks anyway.

I may be missing something but from what I can see the “real hood & scoop†simply allows air into the engine compartment. The CAI still has a filter on it and there doesn’t appear to be any direct connection with the scoop; it still seems non-functional though it does looks nicer.
I’ve spent plenty of cash for bling on my motorcycles, some for just looks and some for function. Considering there’s a difference of roughly $1000 between a new hood and a replica hood scoop I couldn’t justify it. Besides I can’t recall ever asking someone if their scoop was functional or not.
At least with my sport bikes the ram air ducts lead directly into a sealed air box over the throttle-bodies.

if you just want the look than what you are doing will work fine... if you want the look and the ram air you gotta get the real deal.... either way it is going to look good!
