I have the power lock made by pop & lock. Works great, everything is in the tailgate so the handle looks and is the same as its original config.

I like the idea of the power lock! How much of a pain what it to install? What about wiring? Don't mind the using the manual key lock model but the power sound nice too.

tdmopar59/MikeHTalley Did you guys do the install yourselves? If so how would you rate the install process? How much did the locks cost?

RebelZ99 You mentioned power lock. Does that mean that it locks/unlocks automatically? How much did your lock cost? Who installed it? How would you rate the install process?

Very easy install -- twenty minutes max. You have to remove the access panel inside the tailgate. Buncha bolts, but not difficult. Mine was put in with torx bolts. Well worth it to have a set of torx bits for your cordless drill. When you put 'em back in, don't tighten any 'til they're all threaded. The handle itself was a no-brainer as well.

The hardest part for the power lock install is to find a good place under truck to pass the wires. All you need to do is open the door panels and find the set of two wires out of four in the door (one is green and the other if i'm still rigth is brown) Then brings these wires to the tailgate, unscrew the handle install the lock and handle, close everything back and your done. A nice clean job took me about half an hour. Only tools you need are 2 philips screwdrivers, a number 10 ratchet for the door and a torx screw for the tailgate and a #8 ratchet. Very Simple...
