Default RE: Started work on the computer for my truck..

Sorry I haven't given you guys an update in awhile. Truth be told, I haven't done a lot of work to it. Holidays and work, time is hard to come by right now... Anyway, I've done a little work on the passenger side of the screen, got the drivers side finished up for now until I prime it so I can see where I need to do a little more work on it. I have ran all my cables to the dash from the back of the car, haven't put in the computer yet, thinking about doing that maybe Monday..

I also got the GPS antenna hidden away under the speaker hole on the dash:

I know it doesn't look like much now, but as soon as she gets primed, then you'll be able to imagine what this baby is going to look like... I'm still debating on the color to paint it, any ideas???

The FM tuner is actually on the WinTV card, I bought it off eBay, and the GPS antenna is a USGlobalSat BR-355 Mouse Receiver, it's the one iGuidance reccommends, and that's my GPS software...

Should have some pictures, maybe a video clip of that tomorrow. I need to get the power supply in there and make sure it works anyway, I only have 7 days to return it if it doesn't work. I just need to run a power cable to the back... Should only take me 20-30 minutes to get everything in and hooked up for a temporary power up...

Yeah, same color as the truck would be really cool. Kinda tie the interior in with the exterior....

Sorry I didn't get any video of the computer working, but camera batteries went dead when I had everything hooked up, I didn't want to keep everything in the truck while driving around b/c it wasn't secured very well. Just threw it in there to make sure the power supply would work. It did!!!

Well, thanks to your suggestions, I have some inferno red paint heading to my house. We should see a finished product hopefully within a week!!! *Keeping fingers crossed of course* I'm still doing a little bit of work on the bezel, but I think it's pretty much done, just have to fill in some small holes now, but the overall shaping is done. Having to do all the work to it now at my job, so I'll try and get some batteries for the camera and post some pics tomorrow....
