BMW has one engine model with an electric coolant pump.

Davis-Craig electric water pumps claim to be able to stand up to street use
but a review in Autspeed down in Australia was not favorable.

For the older Mopar V8s you can buy a bracket that lets you run the stock water pump with a mounted 12 volt DC motor.

Less parasitic power loss and another big plus is when staging at the dragstrip. You can run the electric pump without the engine running...keeps the engine cool.

i understand what the actual advantages are in racing conditions? i'm wondering what he plans on gaining in a street application. my point being, it is a waste of time and money.
