Default pre purchase help, 08 ram 1500

hey guys, few questions for everyone,
currently have an 01 dakota, i love it ! but, i want a bigger and a new truck. never had a new new vehicle before.
anyways, im looking at the 2008 ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 laramie with the 5.7 hemi. can anyone chime in and give a little input on them. good and bad. is it a good choice? its just a daily driver, nothin special. no off roading or towing or anything...

any options I should get or options I shouldn't get...

let me know =)

If you can wait you may want to go for a newly designed 09.

I just bought a 08 1500. This is my first new truck and I could not be happier. Two must haves are the side step rails and spray on bed liner.

I've hadthree 3rd gen PU's 2 1500's and a 3500. No issues with any. This is after driving Ford trucks for more than 25 years.

you'll be happy with it. im sure everybody can agree rams are the sickest trucks out there no matter what size. I agree with the steps and bedliner. also and intake or if not into that at least a drop in k&N filter. oh. and of course and exhaust

thanks guys. yes eventually intake and exhaust will come, as will a lift with some 33's or 35's.
went and looked at them again to day to decide on what factory options I want. standard laramie model basically but with a sunroof and the standard aluminum color wheels instead of the chrome wheels.

now just need to sell the dakota...

oh, and yes the bedliner too, and as for the step sides I will put aftermarket ones on, but nothin from the factory.

It's my personal opinion NEVER to buy a new style car the first year out.... My uncle has a bad habit of doing this, he only buys either a new model car, or a newly redesigned car the first year they make them, and he seems like he's ALWAYS having to get them serviced, no matter what brand it is. Now, I'm not knocking dodge, but there's ALWAYS a lot more bugs and problems during the first model year than any other.... but then again, that's just my $0.02, take it for what it's worth...

good point and i agree, i think its pretty much like that with anything, cars, motorcycles etc...i know a lot of people that like to buy the newest model style bikes that come out and there are always still bugs until the next years release.
