Dodge V6 vs. others
can you post some clips of your exhaust sound? I had the same muffler dumped and at 3000rpms it sounded like a civic on crack. Maybe it needs to be extended out the back like yours, I dont know. If you can make a sound clip, I'll appreciate it.
Try a IMCO Aftermarket muffler You love it great sound even at 3000 RPM's I took off my Magnaflow it sounded like As!! The IMCO is the one to haveI tryed 3 brands before I found this one.

My 3.7 outran a co-workers 2004 quad cab sb 4.7. Last month I out-ran a newer F150... not sure what engine/trans it had. If you do the right mods I believe you can get some guts out of the 3.7's.
3things......
marv what exactly did your magnaflow, and was it dual or single??? and anyone online were i can buy the imco??
and to the guy above....yes you can get alot of guts out of it. the thing about this engine is the lack of torque, but once you get into the powerband, it pulls hard. at least mine does. the higher it climbs on the tach the harder it pulls. sorta feels like vtech. lol. jk

I agree big44. From 3500 to 6000 it keeps pulling harder the whole way! I have JetPerformance 1 chip, flowmaster 40 series 3" in/out with 90* bend out the accented by a 4" stainless tip (home made for $160) and K&N cold air intake/box. And I only run premium!

The new 4.0 L V6
is a joint development with Japanese and Korean partners
and seems to be a 'state of the art' engine
being made at an advanced new factory.
The 3.9 and 3.7 v6s
probably are not equal to the Chevy I6 in the trailblazer

I have said it in here before. And I'll keep on saying it. 3.93's all the way, baby! You HAVE to test drive a short bed auto trans 3.7L with the 3.93 axle set up. It is like a totaly different truck. It is the perfect matchup between engine/trans/rear axle & fuel economy. (I get a consistent 18 mpg)
And I have yet to find ANY v-6 truck around here that can even come close to keeping up with mine. Even one of our employees has a "suped up" Dakota reg. cab 3.9/5-speed, I roasted him.
