Truck stalls or RPMs when i come to a stop

I had this problem with a 88 ford ranger that i had, took it in and found out thatapiston was cracked and jammed in the resesive position and it caused my whole drivetrain to go, the transmisiion ended up needing to be replaced after they replaced the piston. I'd have them check your pistons and rings just to be sure and maybe grease them. It cost me about 3000 to fix, so not very cheap.

Yes, it says "have them check the pistons and rings, and MAYBE have them grease them." the only part of that sentence that says what might actually be wrong is the pistons and the rings, the maybe is simply a a statement of something that was done to mine and doesn't need to be done! So, before you point out the specifics that you think are right, read each word

Vader, everyone here tries to help. I take everything here with a grain of salt and hope everyone else does too.
Soccerstud, I wouldn't even bother with alot of these guys. Some of them are gonna tease ya after a comment like that. You took it well, after that, just ignore them.
As far as greasing the pistons, as we all know techs will sometimes make "technical terms" upleaving us to feel stupid when we relay thisinfo. This is part of the reason I lurk on this site waymore than I post. If I actaully know I won't sound stupid, then I may actually post my thoughts.

I am able to start it up with no problems but not sure whats going on. i was getting on the road after a stop last night and my check engin light came on and then i lost my transmission. I was not able to go into any gears for a few minuts then i got it to work and drove to the dealer. the dealer hooked my truck up to the computer and got a code P0700. a common trouble he was able to reset it. So can anybody help me out?

Damn Give the poor soul a break. Ever think that the man was told pistons, when they actualy used assmbly lube one the piston componets? Remember most shops treat their customers like they don't know a damn thing about cars, which is mostly true, but you're beating a dead horse hear. He gets it, and its not funny anymore.
