Dodge Ram Tow Hooks
Looking to purchase some Mopar tow hooks for my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, does anyone have pic's of these tow hooksinstalled on a 1/2 ton and how complicated are these to put on. I read some where that the front bumper has to be removed in order to install the tow hooks.

i don't think you have to take off the bumper.... i would check with your local dealer if they would cut you a break considering how new your truck is... talk to your salesman not service..
I didn't like the mopar ones, because they look very limited to what kind of strap you can get through the hole. That's why I made my own...

i bought the after market mopar ones for the 1500 and you do have to take the whole front bumper off because on the 1500 the tow hooks are one piece and there is almost like a cup on the right and left sides that they mount in. to get it in the cups though u must unbolt the bumper, bolt on the tow hooks and then remount the bumper. it was not to difficult i did it by myself except i just need a little help taking the bumper off and on. they look a hell of alot better then the plastic insert though
My came with factory tow hooks on the front... and by peeking into the bumper.. it looks like a one piece setup... it's of good size... Don't think it'll fit thru the hole.... But It just may be better to take the bumper off.. it may be more work.. but will be worth it...

If you can pop out a piece of plastic and put in a couple of bolts you can install the tow hooks.
I had to use the tow hook holes for my grill guard. So I drilled a couple of holes in the base of my winch mount plate, used a couple of heavy duty U-bolts and finished it off with a pair of 6 ton clevis'.

Anyone seen a set for the rear? I was looking for just a "hook" type, so I could wrap a chain a round it (to pull a Chevy out
) but have not seen any that use existing bolt areas. I'd like to avoid drilling or cutting anything. Sorry to take the thread a hair off course...
