Default Interior noise level on 3rd Gen Rams

I've had my '7 Ram a year now and I waited until I was certain of things before whinning about the truck. It has many features that are better than my old '98, but there are a few that I find disappointing. The interior noise level of my '98 4x4 with A/T tires was substanially quiter, wind noise, road noise and engine noise. Even with over 130K miles on it, it was quiter. Both are SLT versions. My new truck is a 2wd with all season radials. The level of insulation has obviously dropped. Has anyone else noticed this as well? Anyone done anything about it?

And, yes, I knew it was a truck when I bought it. Yes I test drove it before I bought it. I just find it disappointing to go backwards on something like this. How much could they possibly save per truck!

That's funny because I had a '98 RCSB 360CI 4x4, then an '02 Chevy ECSB 5.3L Z71, and thought the cab noise in my '04 QCSB Hemi 4x4 was a whole lot quieter than either of my previous two trucks. So much so, in fact, that I remember mentioning it to my wifeof that time, during my test drive. It's not very quiet anymore, but that's cause I got a lift, big ol' 35" tires, CIA, Headers, Flowmaster, etc., but when it was stock, it was very quiet. Interesting, did they make it better by 2004 just to cheap out by '07?

I did see the seats in an 07 leftover SLTlast week and thought to myself WTF happened. My 04 seat material looks like more fabric bang for the buck. My interior noise levelis not asbad as some of you folks seem to feel it is. But its not as quiet as my F150 either. Those all seasons should be a quiet highway tire not likea noisy generallyhard riding LT tire.

My '07 is very quiet and so was my '02. I guess I just got lucky with both. Red

I have noticed that if you have the vent setting on recirculate, it makes the wind noise a little less, no matter if you have the a/c on or not. Mine is not that bad but not as quiet as my wifes Tahoe either, but I really don't expect it to be....it is a truck!

Before I put exhaust on mine, it was very quiet. I remember seeing a couple other people on here complain about it, but I was kinda like WTF?? My old truck was an 02 GMC Sierra, all stock, and it was MUCH louder on the highway than my new baby. My uncle took a ride with me and said the same thing, and he drives a VW Toureg. Now with the flowmasters it's a different story, but that's kinda what I was going for, my cab was TOO quiet....

Mine has a wind noise around the door. To me it sounds like the window is always cracked. I need to take it to the dealer because the door seal is starting to tear at the pillar.
Other than that it is nice. The exhaust is kind of loud and drowns out anything else. I'm not complaining.
