How Long do you guys warm up for?
Start it, let the oil pressure get to normal (10 to 15 seconds), then drive it nice until the water temp gets normal, then drive it as hard and fast as I want. In California beach areas, we almost never have freezing temps, not an issue. Long idling wastes fuel and in some states is illegal (of course nobody enforces it).
Last few weeks have been under 10F around here, so I let it warm up along enough for me to scrape the ice and snow off the windshield. Gotta let it warm up a bit more in the cold, ya know?
Course if the wife and kids want to tag along, I'll give it a full minute or two. Damn MDS makes the heater take forever to warm up if you just let it idle.

No, it's functional at idle, that's the problem, if the engine doesn't heat up quick, the heater core won't heat up quick. I can get the truck warm quicker by driving right off with no warm up as it kicks in the other 4 cyl's.

gassers can handle a longer "warm up" time in the driveway.
if ya CTD, then it should "warm up" no longer than acouple minutes.
then just drive mellow for a bit

5 min. warm up when it's 35 degrees or less. 10 min. when it gets into the low 20's or less. Usually just enough to melt the remaining ice/snow on the windshield after cleaning the rest off. Little or no warm up in the summer. The cab warms up in 3 to 5 minutes depending on the outside temperature - typical kick-*** Chrysler Heater/AC system. Every Chrysler vehicle me or my family have owned over the years have had heater/AC systems that have performed flawlessly.
