I pull a 35' RV with mine. '05 QC 4X4 Hemi. Trailer loaded weighs around 9500#. It's a chore, but it takes the abuse. Luckily we don't pull it too much.

. LOL J/K thats pretty impressive for a 1/2 ton. What kind of mileage are you gettin with that behind you?
It should have no problem towing it, just put it in tow/haul mode. My brothers truck broke down while we were out of town and he used my truck to haul he's truck around to find a good shop. He had a 98 silverado ext. cab z71 not sure on weight but I think around 5500 to 6000 and the trailer was about 1800 pounds.Pulled it just fine just brakingwas a littlescary.
i Pull my 27 Foot power boat with my 06 1500 QC. with the trailer and boat it's about 8500. i have the Class 4 hitch on it. my owners book says the way my truck is set up i can haul up to 10,000 with it. i wouldn't do it just cause its hard on the truck. but i know my uncle had a short box regular cab chevy with the 5.3 and he pulled a 38' fountain with that and that had to way like 12-13,000 would be my guess and these trucks are much better then that one was so i wouldn't worry about it. just make sure you do our trany services and run good fluids
Yeah I decided to get the trailer, and I drove out to Ohio 6+ hours away, and picked it up, and got back a little while ago since it took a little over 7 hours to get back with the trailer due to weather related delays...

Well first impressions were a little biased by the weather, and the trip. The trailer was in Ohio and I live outside of Philadelphia, that was 6.5 hours without the trailer and 7+ hours with it...
The problem was about the point we hit the Ohio state line going out there there were downpours and strong winds. We got the trailer and there were a lot of steep hills around and the truck performed flawlessly even going up these hills from a stop... This biggest issue was the 30 knot crosswind, no exageration, the signs on the highway all gave high wind warnings and all...
So prior to gettign to the highway I was enjoyed pulling it and it did it without complaint, but once I hit the highway and started gettign tossed around I was less pleased with it all. Then I got out and made some adjustments to the load levelerand sway controls and after a few tweeks it was smooth sailing, and I couldn't be happier with the way it performed.

Sorry guys, I was out of town. As for gas mileage, it drops to about 8-9 mpg. Up hill can be a struggle, but it gets it done for me. I was really suprised that it could do it. The furthest we pull it is from western SC over to the coast, usually 200-400 miles.
