Have you checked out ebay for tail lights yet? $300 bucks for some tail lights is alot. They got that same kind and everything for $109. I don't know if they will thehave 08's out yet. I ordered some off there for my 05 and were perfect, had no problem.

Any aftermarket taillight that says fits an 07-08 needs to be rewired! They will fit cause the shape is the same but the mounting tabs are a little different. You need to rewire because the 07 and up use one bulb for the turn signal and directional and the older models had seperate bulbs. I didnt really care for the tails on the 07 so I had mine tinted and now I really love them. I also swapped my 07 headlights for the Night Runner ones but hated the amber strip so I used tinted vinyl to cover them up. Now I have a 2007 Night Raider edition!

 

I am soooo glad to have found this thread! i bought a 08 and that is the only thing that I truly hate! In fact, right after pulling out of the dealer lot I was thinking about how to get rid of them for the smooth older style. I just can't figure out what would have caused the "designers" to make that change! If anyone wants to swap for my brand new ones, the truck only has 6k on it, I am interested... and then some!!!

Hi, anyone know the difference between the 06 and 07 headlights if any? I like my 07 tail lights.

I don't care for thr 07 tail lights either. They just don't fit the lines/design of the truck.

 

I'm interested in the recon smoked tails too, so I requested the directions for the 07-08 setup. I was hopin for a much less involved setup, they also suggest ordering additional parts from mopar on top of the 300 you drop on the lights. Not too sure about those now...they sent it to me in a pdf file so not too sure how to upload it to the forum, but you can e-mail them for the directions for anyone intersted, lots of pics included.

Lamps for a 2007 and 2008 are the same part number. So I would think that the ones you are looking at will work...

 

I have an 07 and I like them because I can tell her apart from the older ones that look just like her. The 08's don't say 1500 so I know she is one of a kind(well - not really)
