That one must not be much better than stock because it does not remove the plastic engine cover that connects it to the TB.

You could make a CAI out of PVC or ABS and get a K&N filter, if you don't mind the look. As far as mufflers go, get a Magnaflow, the reason I am against flowmasters is because they have NO performance gains over stock mufflers, sure they sound nice but the mags sound just as nice with better performance.
Just curious how would that not be as effective as intakes that remove the plastic engine cover??? Its still pulling air from the coolest place possible???

the "hemi hat" is a very restrictive piece... that is wat makes the stock intake less affective...

Huh I did not knot that. Is it really that much different than the 4.7, I cannot imagine the "hat" on mine to be "very restrictive"?

prolly... the "hat" lol is a restrictive piece because it acts as a silencer.... i would imagine it does the same on the 4.7

Learn something new everyday I guess. I dont think I have ever heard that aboutany car. I know the pros of a CAI were because its less restrictive I just figured because your changing that old paper filter and the majority of the time with an aftermarket intake you have more filter surface area. But I always thought that the real benefit of a CAI was pulling air from a much cooler spot that the original.

It is, but that is only half the battle. You still want the least amount of restriction possible, I know on my 06 3.7 dak it has a CAI that is stock (the "hat" piece, intake tube, cabin filter box, then it has an induction piece that goes into the fender), but it is extremely restrictive.

I disagree, magnaflows do NOT sound as good as flowmasters but they do however have more performance gains.
