Default Introducing myself

Hello all, my name is luke and i have been a member of df for a while now.i live innebraska (west point) and i am a police officer here in west point.i am a recent new owner of a 08 ram 1500 extended cab 4x4 big horn edition with the hemi and so far love every minute i drive it.

I read all of the reviews for products for the trucks. i am having issues finding stuff (intakes and performance stuff that wont void my power train warrantee) since its so new.

what is a good intake (200-230 bucks or less)
what muffler will be good for my truck (i dont think that i have mds) i have heard flowmaster and magnaflow so far. i just want the muffler for now due to limited funds and what not. any suggestions on how to make the new toy have a lil more get up and go. and where do you guys go to get most of your stuff!?

thanks

[sm=icon_cheers.gif]on the new ride! From what I've read, all the half-ton pickups with Hemis have MDS. It'll be on the sticker, in any event. I put TrueFlow intake and Magnaflows on my '03 QCSB. With all the maintenance (plugs, oil change, tranny fluid change, TB cleaning) and the mild performance changes, this old man gets up and goes very well for five years old and 92K. Warranty is no longer an issue for me, obviously. What you could do is talk to the dealer about what "aftermarket" stuff they could put on (pricing, warranty, etc), then just go elsewhere for better pricing. Mopar sells intake kits, so that can't void the warranty. Make sure you have confidence in the source for your add-ons. __________________________________________________ ____ The TrueFlow came from Amazon, the Magnaflows came from a local shop. Moe's Performance is a good source and a reliable vendor. 3rd Strike and AirRam are popular suppliers. Lots of us use EBay for all kindsa stuff.

You should have MDS unless you have a Megacab.

CAT back exhausts will not void warranty, it is when you get to the cats and forward that you can stand the chance of warranty resistance. There is a post with many pages about exhaust, it can be found in the sticky at the top of the section.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride. I agree with the other guys with the warranty thing. An exhaust and intake shouldn't void it and a tuner wouldn't either as long as you remove it prior to taking it in for anything. Summit racing is another good place to buy things.

Only Sharx's ram can handle the weight of a whale.

That one must not be much better than stock because it does not remove the plastic engine cover that connects it to the TB.

You could make a CAI out of PVC or ABS and get a K&N filter, if you don't mind the look. As far as mufflers go, get a Magnaflow, the reason I am against flowmasters is because they have NO performance gains over stock mufflers, sure they sound nice but the mags sound just as nice with better performance.
