Default RE: Flowmaster vs. Magnaflow catback!

Super 40 series arent THAT loud. I have an 03 and just installed a super 40 right in place of the stock muffler, and left everything else the same. Its actually pretty quiet in the cab but they did put the new spacer pipe on the inlet side of the muffler moving the actual muffler back alot closer to the rearend.i can maybe see if you removed the cats and dumped the muffler that the super 40 would be pretty loud, but its alot quieter than other rams I have heard with glasspacks or straightpipe (the last one is a no-brainer)... And IMO if your looking to get big gains out of your exhaust then you better have alot of other stuff done ie; headers, highflow or removed cats, intake... Even if the Magnaflow gave you an extra 5hp over stock it would be difficult to feel it with the "butt dyno:. Its not like most of us add an intake and go get it dyno tuned. If your looking for much more than a good sound out of your exhaust system, you'd better have alot of other stuff than just a muffler change goin on...
