Another step for the seatbelt ligth that I have done is used a jumper on the wire harness at the latch location so that their is no sound or ligth in the dashboard. This jumper tricks the system by connecting the two wires together. Helps alot during the nigth time.

 

Another option on the seat belt issue is to go to your dealer and ask for a set of seat belt extenders. Just plug the seat belt extender into the seat belt latch. it works for my 02 Ram 1500, should work for you. Also the dealer should give these to you FOC.
