volant intake
just got a sick deal on a new volant intake for my truck... most places had them for around $280+ and i found ONE left in stock at performancecenter.com for $225 with free shipping. thatplace has everything at good prices and they price match other sites...just thought id share my luck at getting parts for cheap....
yeah i always "window shop" online at different sites, someday when i have more money ill be able to buy it all up lol... one part at a time. i had the ebay intake that i bought for 425 to see how it worked ( it wasnt bad for a $25 intake lol ) i love dthe way the volant looked and i read up on a lot of happy customers. i love the sound of intakes especially when paired with exhaust. really opens it all up... i want to do the headers ( probably gibson stainless ) cams and superchips by summer... spend a niced penny on the motor and and get soem extra horsies would be nice.... i would liek to see how much you can get out of this motor with bolt ons.
i hear ya.. i got my plans too.. im not all for the speed though... i love off roading the speed is just a bonus!
i am goin to do 4.56 gears 4.5" lift e fan hopefully within the next year... possibly subs...

i got an hid kit on ebay as well. i wasnt too happy seeing in how i ordered a h13 kit and got a 9006 kit just to find out that they didnt have one that had the h13 connectors. also the harness only plugged into one side of the headlights so i would get a lamp out light in the dash. so i found h13 connector pigtails on suv-lights.com and got 2 and then cut the 9006 connector off the hid harness and spliced in the h13 and made a harness to go to the other side. so now its works real good and i get no bulb out. i paid $175 for the hid kit and $40 for connectors. its is def too bright for teh stock lamp housing just throws teh light all over the place. i found a place selling projectors for around $250 so i was going to get them and take apart my stock headlight and fabricate them into it ( seeing in how i hate theaftermarket headlight with projectors) so yeah it sounds crazy spending around $500 for headlighst but it really does look soo nicr and wont be soo crazy annoying bright anymore. i might be able to get some projectors from an auto body that fixes bmws and benzes. sometimes they will coem in with cracked lights and have goodprojectors still and usually throw them out so i may be able to get some for free or really really cheap.
well got the intake yesterday finally. put it on today ... was soo easy went on in under 25 mins and everything fit soo easy. havent driven aroudn much so i really dont know how the gas mileage is. it feels alot better out of a stop light when you get on it. it made a big difference on the sound of my exhaust. it sounds real deep now and sounds best at around 2500-3000 rpms.i really wasnt expecting much but im very happy with it. i will get pics of it as soon as i can... the old ebay intake i had didnt really give me any sound difference with my exhaust it seemed to give me worse gas mileage ( 1-2 mpgs worse, dont know why)
I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THE VOLANT INTAKE... i know alot of you cant justify spending $300 on a intake ( i caught a real good deal with it and got it for $225 with free shipping) but its worth every penny with the overall quality of the system.
