Default Hawk LTS pads

Just installed new Bear Deca rotors and Hawk pads on my 03 Hemi Ram 1500. The part # HB300Y.622 for the Hawk pads don't seem to be right. There is about 1/2" of unused rotor on the bottom. The pads are too small and have a larger arch compared to the factory pads. I looked up the pads on the Hawk website and they say that this is the correct pad. I did a google search and came up with a 50 to 50 ratio between the HB299Y.650 and the HB300Y.622. After looking at this for most of the night, I think I need the HB299Y.650. My question is, has anyone run into this before. My truck stoped better with the factor set up. Please help as I don't want to kill the new rotors.

I just might do that as I don't seem to be getting anywhere with Hawk. Even called them and got nowhere!

Has no one every used Hawk brake pads on a Ram. I was always told that Hawk was the way to go. I now stop worse than factory brakes. I would like to know if anyone has had good luck with them on a Ram. They look too small but Hawk tells me that it's right. I seem to have wasted $75 on what was the best thing out there.

I had a similar issue only with my old Dakota a few years back. I ordered some powerslot rotors and hawk pads from truckperformance.com. The rotors were fine, the pads, well they just didn't seem to fit (were a little smaller), similar to what your describing. I ended up calling truckperformance, who were nice but all they could say is "it's the right part # based on our info"...fortunately they let me exchange them for another brand (just some raybestos or something like that)...they arrived, fit perfectly and worked great 'till I sold the truck. I dunno, maybe there's something in common with the Hawk pads ??

I changed my stock brake pads out and replaced them with Hawk ceramic pads.
I really like them and have very little dust on my rims.
So far, I put about 20,000 miles on them and thay have worn very little.
I did not change the rotors.

I also bought Hawk LTS pads. I got front brake HB299Y.650 instead of what Hawk's website recomends HB300Y.620. I noticed the HB299Ys where for a Ford truck, but it had Dodge truck in the illustration on Hawks website on the dimenesions.

http://catalog.hawkperformance.com/h...ny_id=10028147
Here you can see! I also notticed the width was larger for the HB299Ys at 2.22[56] then the HB299Ys at 2.19[56] (not sure what the number between the [?]is). Both the lenghts were the same at 7.42 [188] for the HB299Y.650s and HB300Y.620s.

This is the link for the recomended Hawk Dodge 03 Ram 1500 front brakes.

So I guess I will install what they sent me and see? I wounder if this has been brought up with this site i went through to buy them?

I just ordered EBC yellow pads from Moes Performance. From what I have read, this is the way to go. As far as the Hawk LTS pads go, I will be pulling them off . They just don't feel right. If I stand on it, it will stop. I just seems like I have to apply too much pressure. I will try to post pics. Never posted them on this forum before.

I spoke with Hawk today, they said that the HB299Y.650 can be used on the a 2003 dodge Ram 1500. They said 04 and up needs the HB300Y.620 pads.
